Dr. Leibowitz joined
the Company’s Scientific Advisory Board in July 2000. She has gained extensive
experience in pharmaceutical licensing, business development, and clinical
research as Associate Medical Director at Pfizer Inc. and American Home Products
(Ayerst) and as Director of Licensing and Development at Pfizer Inc. As a
consultant, she focuses on the growth and development of emerging biotech
companies.Dr. Leibowitz holds faculty appointments at Columbia University and the Mount Sinai School of Medicine (N.Y.). She graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry and received her M.D. degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Leibowitz was a faculty member of Rockefeller University in the department of Biochemical Genetics until she began her training in cardiology.
